- It took a penalty kick meltdown that only the English could properly produce, but Italy have endured an arduous road to become champions of Europe for the first time since 1968.
- A minor miracle was necessary for Scott to overtake Mike with a 3.4 point gap heading into the Final and Jordan Pickford made sure that there was no divine intervention in this Challenge. England's #1 made a huge stop on a rocket of a shot from Scott's pick Federico Chiesa in regulation before the winger limped off injured keeping him off the scoresheet. Pickford's stellar work also helped bolster the rating of Mike's pick Harry Maguire who also helped his own cause by being one of two English players to hit their penalties in the fateful shootout.
- In the less meaningful battles in the table, Trevor was able to use Chiesa's phenomenal workrate to outdo Andrew's pick of Kieran Trippier who inexplicably fell back into a much deeper role after assisting Luke Shaw's shock opener.
- At the bottom, Greg used the day's top scorer Lorenzo Insigne to doom Matt to the basement after Mason Mount put in a shocking display of ineffectiveness as the lone link between England's defense and attack up the middle.
- Congratulations to Mike and let's all get this man his money expeditiously! I'm thinking of possibly running these for any domestic leagues this coming season where we can get a good turnout so if you are interested let me know and tell potentially interested friends. THANK YOU FOR PLAYING!
