- There were six fixtures on the calendar but since everybody neglected the early match between Brentford and Wolves, let's move on to the 10 AM ET contests.
- The only game untouched during this time slot was Burnley/Arsenal, a match that saw the Gunners win their second straight.
- Liverpool and Crystal Palace have a dicey history together so it was not unexpected but slightly worrying to see six starters, including both fullbacks, sat after Champions League action mid-week. However, Kostas Tsimikas proved once again to be a more than capable deputy for Andy Robertson netting Andrew a 7.4 rating with a clean sheet and 55% cross completion coming up the left side.
- Manchester City were somehow stifled by winless Southampton which is not what Scott and Ryan were expecting with Gabriel Jesus and Jack Grealish respectively. Pep's rotation policies took out Ryan's original pick of Ferran Torres but that proved inconsequential as the duo averaged a 7.0 in an underwhelming contest at the Etihad that once again was played in front of a nowhere-near-capacity crowd.
- A contest between two freshly promoted sides saw Watford square up with Norwich. Trevor earned top score of the day (8.1) with Ismaila Sarr doing the bits for the Hornets with a pair of goals while Matt did not get the same courtesy from Milot Rashica on the Norwich side.
- In the final match of the afternoon, Everton got walloped by Aston Villa in a match that just fell apart for the visitors after the hour mark. The lone selection from this one, Greg's pick of Alex Iwobi, was relatively quiet on his way to a 6.5 with his lone shot in the match coming closer to the corner flag than the goal.
- Regarding optimal score, maybe we need to collectively rise a bit earlier because the dismissed contest between Brentford and Wolverhampton had that top score with Ivan Toney. A 9.0 on the back of a goal from the spot, an assist, and tireless defensive work from the striker position made him the Man of the Match.
