- Leave it to the forgotten sons of Group F to inject a little chaos into the proceedings as we head into the final matchdays of the Group Stage.
- Hungary, the de facto sacrificial lambs of Group F, were able to hold on for a draw with favorites France after going ahead on the stroke of halftime. Hugo Lloris seemed to be one of the easier selections for Andrew after the Hungarians showed no attacking prowess against Portugal but that aforementioned Attila Fiola strike doomed his day. As for the other Frenchmen picked, Kylian Mbappe (Scott) and Paul Pogba (Trevor), it can only be gleamed that their involvement in the buildup to Antoine Griezmann's equalizer kept their scores from being under 7.0. Despite neither directly assisting the Barcelona winger, they registered the two top scores of the afternoon.
- The ratings for Pogba and Mbappe moved Trevor into first place for the first time and Scott within 0.1 points of second. There is only a 0.8 point gap between first and fourth.
- While France expected better, I don't think expectations for Spain's strike force could be any lower. Alvaro Morata (Mike) may have scored the only goal for La Furia Roja and Gerard Moreno (Greg) may have assisted it but it was downhill from there. Moreno would miss a penalty off the woodwork and Morata would sky the follow up with the goal mouth wide open. Neither could keep possession at all which in Spain's tiki taka possession based system is a bit of a no-no. Both were yanked in the second half to choruses of boos.
- But sandwiched in between those two disappointing efforts was one that nobody truly expected despite a history that should have had nothing but a certain expectation. Portugal lost their fifth straight major tournament match against Germany who kept their foot on the gas for the full ninety minutes. A rightful switch to an own goal designation ruled out Kai Havertz's opener for Matt but the Chelsea man soon got his true goal as Germany ran roughshod.
