- After the postponement of Burnley/Leicester, there were five available matches to choose from. Each one had at least one selection on the day.
- It was another dark day in the tenure for Rafa Benitez on the blue end of Merseyside as Everton fell to rock bottom Norwich City, 2-1. That result saw Trevor's pick Vitaliy Mykolenko, the first incoming January transfer picked in this Challenge, end with a 6.7 despite having multiple clearances and key tackles.
- Another "historic" first occurred on this day as Andrew's selection of Newcastle striker Chris Wood made him the first player to be taken for two different teams in the Premier League Pick One. His side was at least able to salvage a draw against Watford with Wood netting a 6.7 rating but netting zero shots on target.
- But even in disappointment there is reason to look up as Scott's pick Armando Broja came in with the low rating of the lot with a 6.3. Southampton needed a world-class free kick from James Ward-Prowse to get anything from their match against Wolves. The Chelsea loanee was dreadful in 78 minutes before getting yanked off.
- Even Last Man In Jesse Lingard got Greg a 6.5 in Manchester United's draw with Aston Villa.
- Manchester City was able to eke out a 1-0 win against Chelsea at home with Ryan's pick Joao Cancelo assisting on the match's lone goal. Although he probably found himself in Chelsea's half of the pitch more often than not, he still gets credit for a clean sheet as a fullback and a 7.3 rating in the end.
- Nevertheless, the day's top score went to Matt with Aston Villa winger Emiliano Buendia. Tracking back earned the Argentinian attacker most of his ratings points in Villa's comeback against United with 10 ground duels won and 2 key tackles. Tireless and effective defensive work from an attacking position will earn you solid dividends even without the aid of a goal or assist and Buendia's 8.0 illustrates that perfectly.
- Optimally though it was Jose Sa who would have gotten you the most for your money. That aforementioned Ward-Prowse worldy was the only blemish on an 8.8 rated morning that saw the Portuguese stopper turn away nine shots, including seven from close range, claim both crosses he went after, and stop two breakaways with saving clearances.
