- Friday Night Football featured two relatively unused sides, Southampton and Aston Villa, which saw every single pick for the day be a Pick One debut.
- Sitting precariously just above the relegation zone, Villa only had three shots on target on the afternoon. Leon Bailey (Trevor) got one of those and John McGinn (Ryan) set up another. They both ended with 6.8 which were the lowest non-defender ratings for Aston Villa players who played the full 90 minutes.
- On the Saints side, the day's two substitutes were selected in two different fashions. Greg had his standard Last Man In with Armando Broja so that's nothing to write home about but Andrew went an alternative route. After missing the kickoff, instead of waiting for the LMI he instead went for the first second half substitution which ended up being Brazilian defender Lyanco. A 7.0 and a clean sheet in 34 minutes work doesn't seem too bad.
- Whilst reclaiming second place, Scott picked the greater of two Armstrongs in the match's lone goal scorer, Adam. As a target man he wasn't asked to do much else, making only 15 passes in 81 minutes, but that goal got him a more than solid 7.3.
- In terms of top score, James Ward-Prowse did everything you'd expect from a Premier League captain in the victory. He was efficient passing and dribbling and did a lot of dirty work defensively including a big blocked shot en route to a 7.5 rating.
- Optimally, despite the loss, Emiliano Buendia was what you sought for the best possible score. Five tackles and an 80% duel victory rate from an attacking player is always going to boost you up in the eyes of the aggregators. The Argentinian ended on a 7.8.
