- New Year's Eve festivities did a number on our participants as nobody got a pick in before the final match and half the field needed the Last Man In provision.
- The trio of Andrew, Greg, and Ryan were assigned Crystal Palace's Jairo Riedewald. The Dutch defender completed seven of nine passes with the two misfires being long balls en route to a 6.6.
- Trevor's selection Declan Rice was the lone delegate from the West Ham United coalition and despite assisting on the Hammers' second goal, the talented midfielder had a couple of defensive lapses which would lead to Crystal Palace making a go of it late on. Silver medal plaudits and a 7.2 were just desserts for Rice.
- That left Scott and Matt to take top score with their selection Jordan Ayew. Ayew played his final match before being summoned to the African Cup of Nations and did so with endless endeavor. He had 89 touches on the right wing and won eight ground duels even though he spent most of his time running up and down that touchline. He earned a 7.4 yet unfortunately his Palace side could not snare a late draw.
- Optimally, it was almost as if we didn't need Arsenal/Man City or Spurs/Watford on the fixture list at all. Michael Olise was seven minutes away from making our Last Man In contingent very happy as he was the second to last Palace sub who got a goal and an assist to put towards his final rating of 8.5.
