- There were goals aplenty across the Premier League on this day, but it seems all of our selections could only find assists to those goals.
- Two nil-nil draws happened over the morning and there was a selection from each of them. Both men got a yellow card in their respective match. The saving grace for Pavli's selection, Newcastle's Fabian Schar, versus Trevor's pick, Wolves' Ruben Neves, was that his was a defender which helped boost him. Schar's clean sheet pushed him to a 7.7 even with the caution while Neves in the midfield sat on a 7.1 with zero true chances created.
- Jesse Marsch has seemingly injected Leeds with a new sense of hope but it still hasn't stopped his side from playing track meet matches like the one they had against Southampton. Matt's pick Jack Harrison was a beneficiary of the back-and-forth netting himself a 7.5 rating with an assist and 93% passing in the 2-2 draw.
- Poor Bournemouth never stood a chance after falling behind after 19 minutes against Manchester City. Within 18 more minutes they were 3-0 down and City were on cruise control. While that's great for supporters, it was a bit detrimental to Pick One backers of Erling Haaland. The hulking Norwegian completed TWO passes all day and only had eight total touches in 74 minutes. Luckily for Andrew, Mike, and Scott, one of those passes assisted on Ilkay Gundogan's opening goal and with the lack of touches never lost possession in the attacking third to end on a 7.3.
- But the shock result in the late game came from our top scorer and Brentford. Ryan got the most assists from a selection so far in a pair of helpers from Bees striker Ivan Toney. He laid up the third and fourth daggers before halftime against Manchester United leaving their sideline in tatters and the crowd at the Brentford Community Stadium in euphoria. His 8.0 rating is the best we've had so far in the early hours of the 2022-23 Pick One Challenge.
- Optimally, while Haaland had little to do in City's blowout win, Kevin De Bruyne was his usual enigmatic self in midfield. He scored a goal, assisted on another, completed 100% of his ground passes (including 5 key passes), and completed all four of his attacking dribbles en route to a 9.5 final rating.
