- Italy was the first team to punch their ticket to the final of Euro 2020 and did so with a mix of the new Italian attacking flair that has made Roberto Mancini's side a favorite of neutrals and an extra time's worth of grind it out in the most unattractive fashion possible.
- Nobody selected the scorer of Italy's goal, Federico Chiesa, nor the supplier of the assist, Ciro Immobile. In fact, two of those picked didn't even make it to the game's eventual penalty shootout.
- Andrew's pick, Giorgio Chiellini, made the meme rounds with his "psychological warfare" with Jordi Alba before the spot kicks. It should be noted moreover how well the match's oldest participant had far and away the best rating of a selected Italy player with a 7.3 and did so with superb passing out of the back as well as taking on all his duels with Spain's front line with ease.
- Jorginho, the selection of Mike and Greg, had a so-so contest but his burial of the deciding penalty to send Italy through may have just put him on that brink of respectability rating-wise with a 6.9 (NI.CE). For Greg, the Brazitalian's score kept him 0.2 ahead of Matt.
- Speaking of Matt, his selection of Dani Olmo, the lone Spaniard off the board, took home top score with a 7.4. By assisting Alvaro Morata's 80th minute equalizer as well as drawing countless fouls to give Spain dangerous free kick opportunities, Olmo energized an otherwise stagnant front 3 in Spain's 4-3-3. Those probably won't be remembered as well though as his skying of his penalty which failed to capitalize on Unai Simon's initial save of Manuel Locatelli's spot kick.
