- The day began with a delightfully entertaining match between Ukraine and North Macedonia with the loser being eliminated for all intents and purposes. Only Scott delved into this contest and struck gold with Ruslan Malinovskyi who was everywhere for the Ukrainians. This could very well have been our first 9.0+ rating of the tournament had the winger not poorly taken a penalty and had a sloppy final ten minutes before being subbed off in stoppage time.
- We nearly had another take that rating plunge in our second match of the day between Belgium and Denmark. Greg's pick of Kevin De Bruyne was the only one to come off the bench among De Rode Duivels' selections but he scored one and assisted the other totaling a 100% chance conversion rate on his way to a 45 minute 8.9 rating. No starter selected surpassed 6.9.
- On the other side of the pitch, the lone Dane taken on the day was Andrew's selection of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Spurs midfielder helped pounce on an early mistake from Belgium to get an assist but eventually found himself chasing shadows and getting the majority of his touches in spaces of the pitch where it was damn near impossible to improve on his offensive production.
- Despite some of the better returns of Group C's first matchday, nobody selected a player from Austria/Netherlands.
