- All three matches on the afternoon were represented with selections, but Watford and Newcastle players did not make their way into any of the six picks.
- Last Man In Anthony Elanga wasn't able to help Manchester United get a winner against Burnley. He also wasn't able to pull Greg or Matt out of the daily cellar with a 6.6 rating in 10 minutes played.
- Youth didn't serve Trevor much better with Everton's Anthony Gordon. The Toffees were bossed all over the park by Newcastle and Gordon found himself on more than one occasion passing and praying that somebody would get on the end of it. Had it not been for his willingness to track back and stop some of the bleeding on the defensive end, his 6.8 rating could have been way lower.
- There were so many things that could have gone better for Andrew's pick Raphael Varane. He had an early goal ruled out by VAR after a foul from Harry Maguire. The Frenchman saw the spot where he should have been occupied by Burnley's equalizer Jay Rodriguez after Maguire failed to cover. A goal and a clean sheet completely wiped out by the man meant to be the second pillar of central defense. A 6.9 (ni.ce) feels sad in retrospect.
- Our lone selection from West Ham/Watford was Scott's selection Declan Rice. Although he wasn't able to recreate his heroism from the FA Cup, Rice was a solid midfield fulcrum for a team that was victorious. This 6.9 (ni.ce) is not as sad.
- That leaves top score in the lap of Ryan with Burnley's Ashley Westwood. Westwood was one of nine Clarets to finish at a 7.0 or above with a 7.0 exactly in 90 minutes. His biggest contribution came in the second half with two big blocked shots as United tried to throw men forward to get a winner.
- Optimally, half the field had the opportunity to take West Ham's Jarrod Bowen. The winger scored in his fifth game in six across all competitions for an 8.4 rating and could have had a second had he not rattled the woodwork.
