- All four teams that played on the day received at least one selection from our seven competitors.
- Although it was a riveting encounter that finished 2-2, Spurs/Chelsea was easily the least bountiful of the two matches at our participants' disposal.
- No selection from either side finished above the "standard" rating of 6.5. To illustrate the goings on for the Blues, both Last Man In Armando Broja (Matt) and starting striker Raheem Sterling (Ryan) finished on a 6.5 rating. Not even an assist on his side's second goal could help Sterling overcome a woeful 11% duels record.
- They pipped a point late but neither of the usually reliable duo of Dejan Kulusevski (Pavli) or Heung-min Son (Mike) provided anything of substance from their time on the pitch. Kulusevski and Son both finished under 70% passing. The South Korean's bad miss is the only distinguishing factor I could see that put him on a 6.3 to the Swede's 6.4.
- After never finishing below a 7.0 rating last season, Jarrod Bowen made in 2-for-2 in the other direction for 2022-23. He had a 6.5 rating for our defending champion Scott in West Ham's 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. Bowen didn't register a single shot of any kind and was caught offside twice.
- Said Benrahma made his 2022-23 Pick One debut as a substitute, but fared better for Trevor as a starter. His 7.4 rating may not have reflected any goal involvement as his side was shut out, but instead his industry as the Hammers' fulcrum (89% passing, one key tackle, one blocked shot), hitting the woodwork, and having a goal ruled out.
- But our top scorer was a goalkeeper, something that occurred only six times all of last season. Dean Henderson shined against West Ham earning Andrew a 8.2 rating in the clean sheet win. Forest's glove man made four saves (three from close range), four cross claims, and two clearances. Not even one of three Nottingham yellow cards for time wasting could bring his rating down from its rightful place atop the daily leaderboard. The showing also put Andrew atop the overall table.
- However it was Henderson's teammate Neco Williams that had the day's optimal score of 8.4. The former Liverpool wingback had three golden chances against the Hammers and while he didn't put any of them away those combined with his defensive efforts (six tackles, four clearances (one off the line), one interception) gave him the plaudits.
