- Of the four clubs playing on the afternoon, only Everton didn't garner a single selection from our participants.
- Surprisingly, the club that got the most attention was Newcastle, even if 2/3 of it came from the Last Man In provision. A dumb late yellow card spoiled an otherwise respectable day for Matt's pick Isaac Hayden (6.6). Joe Willock got Ryan and Greg a 6.7 by making more tackles as a forward in seven minutes of play than Newcastle's two starting center halves COMBINED.
- While he saw his other two front three mates score, Andrew's pick Sadio Mane couldn't find anything resembling a rhythm in his side's 3-1 victory. He had a bad miss and lost the ball nearly every third time he received it ending with a 6.5 rating. Only Ryan is left between the complete picking out of Liverpool's full front three.
- His team may have conceded early, but Trevor's pick Joel Matip and the Liverpool defense were suffocating from then on. After the initial flurry, including Jonjo Shelvey's goal, Matip and his backline only had one shot see Alisson's palms. Add 92% from the back, 3 tackles, and a 78% duel win rate and the Cameroonian international ended the win with a 7.5.
- But in a theme that may just end in a runaway title win, Scott once again had the day's top score with Chelsea's goal scorer Mason Mount. For the fourth straight and fifth in six, Scott got the top guy. It was his third straight day with at least one goal. He now holds a full two ratings point lead after Mount's 7.6 heading into what is already looking to be a very fixture-light weekend.
- Optimally, Jordan Pickford kept Everton in a match they had no business being in. Nine saves, including seven from close range, against Chelsea helped the Toffees claw out a draw and England's #1 earned himself a 9.0 rating.
