SCOTT SERVIDIO- 337.3 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Mohammed Kudus, GHA (7.5) / Ricardo Horta, POR (7.6) / Gabriel Jesus, BRA (7.0) / Aleksandar Mitrovic, SRB (7.4) Scott was one of two participants on the final day of the group stage to get four scores of 7.0 or more. Mohammed Kudus was Ghana's highest rated player as the Black Stars exited the competition. Ricardo Horta made the most of his spot start for Portugal scoring his side's lone goal. Gabriel Jesus kept the Lucky 7's dream alive on the nose as Brazil advanced despite losing to Cameroon. Aleksandar Mitrovic scored one of the combined five goals in the slugfest between Serbia and Switzerland which Mitrovic's nation were on the wrong end of things.
TREVOR UTLEY- 335.2 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Mohammed Kudus, GHA (7.5) / William Carvalho, POR (6.6) / Marquinhos, BRA (7.3) / Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, SRB (6.3) A rough substitution and an all-time bad performance dropped Trevor over two full ratings points behind Scott after the results of Groups G & H. He too had Mohammed Kudus from Ghana/Uruguay to keep the playing field level. But when Portugal heavily rotated and Joao Felix didn't even get off the bench, Last Man In William Carvalho became an unfortunate replacement. Marquinhos excelled as a second half substitute for Brazil even though his side would fall inconsequentially to Cameroon. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic arguably played his worst ever game in a Serbia shirt as manager Dragan Stojkovic tinkered with tactics from jump street and throughout their 3-2 loss to the Swiss.
ROBERT ALLEN- 334.0 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Federico Valverde, URU (7.3) / Joao Mario, POR (6.7) / Gabriel Jesus, BRA (7.0) / Dusan Vlahovic, SRB (7.0) Valverde finished his run with Uruguay with a flourish as he scored above a 7.0 in all three group stage games. Joao Mario was the rotation winger to fade for Portugal. Gabby Jesus and Dusan Vlahovic both registered the same ratings in losing efforts, but Vlahovic's came with a goal as the much-maligned and much-injured striker gave everything he had in a 55 minute shift against Switzerland. All in all, Robert picked up 0.3 ratings points worth of ground as we head into the knockout rounds of the World Cup.
ANDREW SANFORD- 333.2 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Luis Suarez, URU (7.0) / Heung-min Son, KOR (7.5) / Vincent Aboubakar, CAM (7.1) / Dusan Tadic, SRB (7.9) Goal contributions were aplenty for Andrew as all four of his selections either directly assisted or scored in their respective matches. Luis Suarez's helper on second first half goal could not deter the karmic gods from smiting his Uruguay side to elimination. Heung-min Son had been relatively quiet for the majority of the group stage before setting up one of the most important South Korean goals since their miracle run of 2002. Not even a second yellow for taking his shirt off in celebration could taint the performance of Cameroon's Vincent Aboubakar against Brazil. The greater of two Dusans tried his mightiest to get Serbia into the knockout rounds with the best selection score, but alas was denied.
MARTIN DUNNING- 331.7 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Luis Suarez, URU (7.0) / Pepe, POR (7.1) / Gabriel Jesus, BRA (7.0) / Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, SRB (6.3) Once a leader in this competition, Martin finds himself hanging on for dear life above the financial relegation zone. His only unique selection for the day was the ageless Pepe who did everything you'd expect from Pepe on international duty outside of getting booked. The most crushing blow was being the second victim of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's atrocious afternoon against Switzerland.
LENNY MALAGRINO- 329.7 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Mohammed Kudus, GHA (7.5) / William Carvalho, POR (6.6) / Jerome Ngom Mbekeli, CAM (7.1) / Breel Embolo, SUI (6.4) It is going to be one hell of a hill to climb for Lenny to recover from the past couple of putrid days in the World Cup Pick One Challenge, but this was at least a start. Kudus and Mbekeli represented Africa well with the latter assisting on Vincent Aboubakar's goal against Brazil. Lenny was also funneled into the William Carvalho Last Man In pyramid. Breel Embolo was actually his only goal scorer from the quartet of selections, but was so wasteful outside of that one moment that not even hitting the back of the net could keep him from dipping below the standard.
