MARTIN DUNNING- 58.4 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Lionel Messi, ARG (7.7) / Christian Eriksen, DEN (7.2) / Hirving Lozano, MEX (7.8) / Ousmane Dembele, FRA (7.7) Martin cleaned up on the second full day of action in Qatar with none of his picks falling below a 7.0 rating. Messi was the only goalscorer of the bunch as he put away an early penalty in Argentina's shock loss to Saudi Arabia. Eriksen and Lozano were workhorses in their nations' 0-0 draws, both going the full 90 minutes. Dembele was a vital part of France's 180 on Australia after going down by assisting for Kylian Mbappe, the only other French player taken for the late kickoff.
SCOTT SERVIDIO- 58.3 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Lionel Messi, ARG (7.7) / Christian Eriksen, DEN (7.2) / Alexis Vega, MEX (6.8) / Kylian Mbappe, FRA (7.5) Just behind one of our newcomers was the winner of last season's Premier League Pick One Challenge. Scott mirrored Martin with Messi and Eriksen. As alluded to before, Mbappe was the other French selection among our six participants, scoring France's third goal and assisting on the fourth. Mexico's Alexis Vega was the weak link on the day, but if a 6.8 is your lowest total you are in pretty good shape.
ANDREW SANFORD- 56.7 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Lionel Messi, ARG (7.7) / Christian Eriksen, DEN (7.2) / Robert Lewandowski, POL (6.9) / Kylian Mbappe, FRA (7.5) Robert Lewandowski had a penalty saved by Mexico keeper Guillermo Ochoa and had one other chance scuffed. After those Poland didn't do much positive to try to break their 0-0 deadlock. Poland/Mexico had the most unique selections on the day with 5. Argentina/Saudi Arabia only had 4 because of the Last Man In.
ROBERT ALLEN- 55.8 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Nicolas Tagliafico, ARG (6.4) / Christian Eriksen, DEN (7.2) / Matty Cash, POL (6.8) / Kylian Mbappe, FRA (7.5) It was an up and down day for Robert in the Challenge. He started off on a low with Nicolas Tagliafico who was routinely victimized by Saudi Arabia's surprising pace and was part of a losing defense that gave up two goals. After rebounding with a solid showing from Eriksen, it was back down a bit with Poland's Matty Cash. While the Aston Villa man did provide a clean sheet for tiebreaker purposes, those don't matter if you can't get decent ratings. Mbappe ended things on the upswing as we head to the second half of the World Cup group stage.
TREVOR UTLEY- 55.7 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Lautaro Martinez, ARG (6.6) / Christian Eriksen, DEN (7.2) / Robert Lewandowski, POL (6.9) / Ousmane Dembele, FRA (7.7) Lautaro Martinez had a goal harshly off ruled for offsides and then the Inter Milan striker just kinda disappeared. He was one of two Argentina players that snatched sub-7.0 performances from the jaws of Sofascore's light green graces. At least Trevor got himself out of last place for the day despite Lewandowski's miss from the spot.
LENNY MALAGRINO- 55.3 TOTAL SCORE DAILY SELECTIONS: Haitham Asiri, KSA (6.5) / Kasper Dolberg, DEN (6.5) / Arkadiusz Milik, POL (6.4) / Kylian Mbappe, FRA (7.5) Lenny is going to want to be like Argentina and quickly forget this day ever happened. He had to use the Last Man In twice in both the first and third games of the day to little effect. Our only non-Eriksen backer fell down seven-tenths of a point for that timeslot with an ineffective Kasper Dolberg. At least Mbappe saved him from a full day under 7.0 with his goal and assist against the Socceroos.
