- There was only one game on the day and the majority of the Pick One support went to the eventual victor.
- Liverpool was taken to their limits twice last season by Leeds United so it was a directive from the get-go to make them pay for their aggressive style.
- Matt was a man on an island being the lone selector of a Leeds player and while Raphinha had his moments up the right for the home side, there was no end product and too many wasted opportunities leading to the low score of the day with a 6.7.
- That low bar would have surely been cleared, and was on pace to be the first sub-6.0 score of the season, had Trevor's selection of Sadio Mane not bagged a stoppage time goal to temporarily put to bed a game that was otherwise miserable for the Senegalese winger. He just scraped by with a 6.8.
- The other three Reds taken on the day all shined in their own ways. Diogo Jota was taken by our two top scorers of the campaign thus far. They were rewarded with a 7.6 as the Portuguese speedster was tremendous in keeping the Leeds center halves off balance and creating space for those on his flanks to get acres of open space.
- Andrew's pick of Mohamed Salah scored the match's opening goal beating Illan Meslier at his near post. The Egyptian was a nightmare for Leeds' Junior Firpo all match drawing fouls and getting crosses in. Salah tied Jota with a 7.6.
- Top score for the afternoon however went for the first time to Greg who selected Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard's day was a perfect illustration of how the rating system can help boost players in the Pick One that don't score goals too often but still make huge impacts. Despite having a goal ruled out and nabbing the final goal's assist, Thiago's 7.9 rating mostly came from being the fulcrum in Liverpool's midfield regaining possession and completing every single one of his cross field passes before being subbed off in the game's final minutes.
- The optimal pick for the day would have been Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold who made five key passes including the assist on Salah's goal. Pair that with a clean sheet from the right back spot and you got yourself a 8.1 rating for the match.
