- Our last match of the matchweek took place between Everton and Newcastle United. Although Everton snared a late goal for the win in deep stoppage time (do your research to find out why), all of the selections came from Newcastle.
- The worst of those picks came from our game leader Trevor as Joelinton had his lowest rated game of the new year against the Toffees. The converted Brazilian striker was dribbled past three times and only completed 76% of his passes to finish the nearly 110 minutes of football with a 6.0 rating.
- Normally you wouldn't get a rating when you come on in the third minute of stoppage time, but Last Man In Javier Manquillo was playing in different circumstances in this one and scratched out a 6.3 for Andrew and Greg in those 15 extra minutes.
- Another pair of participants did much better with Ryan Fraser. Matt and Scott earned 7.0 ratings from the Scottish international who had the distinction of not only having a goal bound shot blocked but doing the same against Everton on the other end of the pitch.
- That leaves top score in the calm hands of Newcastle's highest rated player on the day, Bruno Guimaraes. Ryan earned himself a 7.5 rating from the January transfer via Olympique Lyonnais who completed 97% of his passes in the center of the Magpie midfield and didn't misplace a single one of his 9 long passes.
- Optimally, Everton backup keeper Asmir Begovic stood on his head against Newcastle. Six saves, including four from close range, as well as a perfect aerial duels record put a 8.4 rating on the Bosnian's scorecard.
