- Our first matches in two weeks saw rivalries renewed and quite a few goals hitting the back of the net.
- Forget both of those points though as our two lowest scores of the week came from substitute strikers in a game with no juice rivalry-wise. West Ham's Michail Antonio made way in the starting XI for summer signing Gianluca Scamacca and could only net Mike a 6.5 in the Hammers' 2-0 win. Diego Costa's return to the Premier League with Wolves went worse somehow. He ended with a 6.2 for Ryan by bricking his one big opportunity and getting caught miles offside.
- Brazilians squared off in the North London Derby with one selection from each of Arsenal and Tottenham. Matt's pick Gabriel Jesus (7.4) was able to put the ball in the back of the net for the victorious Gunners. Andrew's selection Richarlison (6.5) won his side their penalty, which Harry Kane put away, but provided little else offensively before being subbed off in the 71st minute.
- Our lone scoreless draw of the day saw Scott's pick Ivan Toney and Brentford go to a stalemate with Bournemouth. A petulant yellow card for arguing at the end of the first half ended up being the difference in keeping him from breaking the 7.0 mark, ending on a 6.8 instead.
- The most goals from one side came from Newcastle who put four past 10-man Fulham. One of them came from Trevor's pick Callum Wilson. His lack of touches otherwise (just 12 total touches, 4 passes attempted) left him with little potential for advancing past the 7.1 his goal provided him.
- But our top scorer of the day provided a helper on a goal rather than scoring one himself. Chelsea's Thiago Silva earned Pavli a 7.6, the highest for a Blues player on the day, by adding an assist on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's first Chelsea goal with a beautifully padded header to go along with his usual top class defending (5 clearances, 1 tackle, 1 blocked shot).
- Optimally, Brighton's Leandro Trossard, who nearly left injured before completing his task at hand, became the first visitor since Andrey Arshavin in 2009 to get a hat trick at Anfield in his side's 3-3 draw with Liverpool. His 8.8 was the highest of his career.
