- The Netherlands once again fell flat at a major tournament falling to the Czech Republic 2-0 playing the majority of the second half with 10 men. It was a woeful performance all around illustrated by the fact that Scott's selection of Denzel Dumfries and Trevor's of Georginio Wijnaldum put up two of the top four showings in the starting XI with pitiful 6.9 and 6.8 ratings respectively. Despite that, Trevor still maintained his 0.1 point lead.
- Nobody selected a Czech player for their second straight matchday after having selections in their first two.
- While the first match of the day was for all intents and purposes a dud, the second, Belgium/Portugal, provided much more in terms of drama and stylish play despite just the 1-0 final scoreline.
- Playing on a glorified high school field isn't ideal for world class footballers is never ideal but the Belgians made due with several moments of sheer brilliance from the Hazard brothers. Having already taken Eden previously, Matt "downgraded" to Thorgan for this one and saw the lone goal of the game come thunderously off his foot past Rui Patricio en route to the day's top rating of 7.9. Eden was selected by Mike but had his earning potential and possibly tournament cut short by a hamstring injury in the 87th minute. Those who haven't used Kevin De Bruyne yet also saw those points potentially go up in smoke as he also limped off the field in the second half.
- On the Portuguese side, Andrew made the most of Cristiano Ronaldo's last hurrah at Euro 2020 netting the only other 7.0+ rating of the day. Greg's selection of Bruno Fernandes came off the bench just ahead of the game's hour mark, but didn't provide much in terms of a change of pace the side needed to get an equalizer.
