- New Year's prep started early for some our selections as the penultimate day of 2022 saw some less than optimal performances in the Pick One.
- Al probably can't wait for that calendar to flip to 2023 after another rock bottom performance. At least he had company this time as both his selection, Phoenix's Deandre Ayton, and Trevor's, Sacramento's Harrison Barnes, finished on just 14 PRA in their respective contests.
- Chicago scored the most points of the evening against the Pistons. However, Matt's selection did not provide much of assistance in that cause. Ayo Dosunmu earned only 19 PRA in the win.
- An eleven point halftime lead evaporated for Minnesota against the Bucks in an eventual loss, but D'Angelo Russell was at least able to procure Lou 27 PRA as the ship sank.
- In typical Colin fashion, his original selection, Atlanta's Clint Capela, did not play. However, it was a former Hawk that he pivoted to in the night's final contest that kept his hot streak alive. Kevin Huerter had a team-high 30 points en route to 34 PRA and the day's silver medal.
- But one Hawk that did play was our night's top scorer, Dejounte Murray. Ryan received 36 PRA from the Atlanta guard against the Lakers.
- Optimally, it was a night for former MVP's to shine. But the one that shined the brightest was Giannis Antetokounmpo who sparked that second half comeback against the Timberwolves and ended with a massive 68 PRA in the win.
