- More and more late round and undrafted rookies are getting extensive opportunities given the state of the league at the moment and that is finally being reflected in the Pick One Challenge.
- The only two non-rookies for the night came from Colin and Lou who each had Portland Trail Blazers veterans in their blowout loss to the Lakers. Colin circuitously found his way to Nassir Little but the journey didn't have a happy ending with just 8 PRA. Lou's customary Last Man In found a better but not great finish with 22 PRA from Larry Nance Jr.
- Regular Rookie Bench Bargain Jock Landale was Ryan's pick against Memphis. He was no bargain for this one as he tied the low rookie score of the year to date with just a rookie-boosted 10 PRA in defeat.
- Matt didn't fare much better with another frequent Bargaineer (yes I can see the red line and realize this isn't a real word), Chicago's Ayo Dosunmu. The Bulls got the win on a buzzer-beater but our game leader only got a rookie-boosted 14 PRA against Indiana.
- We picked ourselves out of the doldrums with Al's pick of Aaron Wiggins. Our 2020-21 winner's second straight rookie pick went better than his first as Wiggins more than doubled Corey Kispert's output from yesterday with a rookie-boosted 36 PRA in the Thunder's throttling of the Knicks.
- But our top score went to Trevor with Miami's Omer Yurtseven. Despite being in italics on the scoresheet, a clear sign of being a rookie, our day's top scorer avoided using the Turkish big man twice completely glossing over that fact in a recap that he had to go back and put an editor's note in. A rookie-boosted 50 PRA should help ease the embarrassment of it all a little bit though.
- Optimally, it was LeBron James' night against Portland going for 61 PRA in the blowout victory. For Bench Bargains, Brandon Clarke led a solid group of Grizzlies subs with 28 PRA. For rookies, Houston's Josh Christopher took the baton himself and Alperen Sengun seem to be passing back and forth with a rookie-boosted 30 PRA.
