- Most of the Challenge's eyes were on Madison Square Garden for the evening with four of the six picks coming from Magic/Knicks.
- Regrettably for Ryan, his pick was the least successful of the bunch. Two days after going for 29 points against the Celtics, Ross plummeted back to Earth against the Knicks with just 11 PRA in 33 minutes.
- Julius Randle made a return to his stellar Pick One form from two years ago against Orlando. He netted Colin and Lou and double-double and 41 PRA as the Knicks were victorious.
- The two non-Knicks or Magic players selected on the day ended up with the daily silver and bronze medals. Matt got 45 PRA from Last Man In Damian Lillard as the Blazers continued their perfect start with a win over the Nuggets. Meanwhile, Al continued his torrid run to start the season with 49 PRA (one rebound shy of a triple-double) from Philadelphia's James Harden. However, for the first time thus far he will not have at least a share of the day's top score.
- That honor goes to Trevor with #1 overall pick Paolo Banchero. Orlando's cornerstone player may not have reached the heights he did in his first two top score efforts in the Challenge with "only" 54 RBPRA, but he did enough to get Trevor a bit of breathing room between himself and the financial relegation zone.
- Optimally, it was the third overall pick in the NBA Draft that would have earned you the best possible score. Houston's Jabari Smith Jr. nearly recorded his second straight double-double to finish on 64 RBPRA as his Rockets beat the Jazz.
