- Golden State evened the Finals at one game apiece with a resounding win at home.
- Although things look a bit rosier than last year in terms of the selection pool, the way this series is being played isn't letting big scores fly willy nilly.
- Case in point was Ryan's pick Marcus Smart. After being a consistent double-digit scorer for the majority of Boston's run to the Finals, Smart didn't even reach double-digit PRA with only 9 on 1-of-6 shooting and 5 turnovers.
- His team may have won Game 2, but it was back-to-back Pick One-ending stinkers for Al's pick Klay Thompson. Needing his scoring to offset his limited rebounds and assists, the sixth Warriors player picked out this season shot 4-of-19 from the field (including 1-of-8 from three) to end with 15 PRA in the win.
- Our lone bench selection of the night was Trevor's choice Gary Payton II. GPII looked good in 25 minutes but most of that time was as a game manager than a rim attacker so despite not missing a shot from the field he finished his run with 13 PRA. (Editor's Note: Shoehorning this little nugget for myself here. There will be no more bench bargain blurbs for the remainder of this series, it just makes me sad now.)
- That leaves Matt to take home the top score for Game 2 with Stephen Curry. Like Al in Game 1, Curry was unable to trigger the Triple Double Down provision, but nevertheless found himself the game's optimal scorer with 39 PRA including a game-high 29 points.
