- In their triple overtime loss to the Kings, the Lakers showed how the new mechanics for this season of the Pick One can both giveth and taketh away.
- We'll start with the negative which unfortunately does our current resident of the basement no favors. DeAndre Jordan once again displayed the dangers of the Last Man In as in a game that went to three overtimes he only played 11 minutes and ended with just 5 PRA. The former Councilman of Lob City played the game's first eight minutes but all but disappeared for the remainder.
- Speaking of minutes, the Grizzlies really spread them out following the injury to Ja Morant against the Hawks. Only Morant played single digit minutes in the bench-emptying game and the scoring load was incredibly spread out. Regrettably that meant Colin's pick Dillon Brooks was a bit lost in the shuffle and ended the blowout loss with 18 PRA.
- Ryan's pick Nikola Vucevic was on the right side of a 30+ point blowout with his Bulls beating the brains out of his former team Orlando. Had the game been closer I am fairly confident he would have bested his 27 PRA output from this one.
- In the only pair of opposing picks on the evening, Miles Bridges (Trevor) and the Hornets took on D'Angelo Russell (Al) and the Timberwolves. Although both teams are beginning to make positive strides defensively, this was not one of those nights as Bridges went for 26 PRA to Russell's 29 as the T'Wolves won 133-115. It was the second consecutive 29 PRA day for Russell with Lou and Matt left to take him.
- But our top score of the evening is a big one because for the first time in eleven attempts we had someone finally hit on a Triple Double Down. As stated before, it took three overtimes, but Matt ended the evening with a massive 150 adjusted PRA score after Russell Westbrook triple-doubled (29/10/11) in LA's defeat to the Kings.
- With an 150 PRA effort on the board it seems silly to talk about optimization, but a format's a format. Scottie Barnes' Toronto side are beginning to fade a little bit but he still remains a Pick One powerhouse with a rookie-boosted 56 PRA against Indiana. For Bench Bargains, Kelly Oubre Jr. once again showed off scoring-wise and not much else as 27 of his 28 PRA came via points while Terance Mann double-doubled in the day's lone afternoon tip-off for the same 28 PRA statline. With rookies, it was once again a Chris Duarte kinda day with a rookie-boosted 38 PRA versus Barnes' Raptors.
