- Let's start off the proceedings with our hard luck man of the day, former leader Colin. Not only did he lose his top spot and his initial pick, but missed out on the best pick of the day by 22 seconds with Last Man In rules and ended up with DeAndre Jordan and the low mark of the evening of just 12 PRA against Cleveland.
- In good news for the rest of the field, the next lowest mark of the day was the steady Harrison Barnes who put up his second double-double of the Pick One campaign, this time for Al, with 32 PRA in a win over the Pelicans.
- Barnes is one of several players with multiple selections for the young season but the hill to be the first one picked out is a steep one to climb after three participants went with Cole Anthony against the Raptors. And while the dynamic point guard didn't come good on Triple Double Downs for Matt and Lou, he was able to get both of them and Trevor 34 PRA in defeat. Only Al and Colin have their Triple Double Downs to use in the next two days or they forfeit the opportunity for the month of October.
- Reclaiming top spot with the top score of the night was Ryan who got the best rookie score of the season thus far from Indiana's Chris Duarte. The Oregon product went for 19/4/2 in the Pacers' loss to the Nets which with the rookie boost gave him an even 50 PRA for the game and our highest in the season's first ten days. Duarte also became the first two-time top scorer.
- Optimally, let's go back to Colin's tough go of it. I mentioned the bad luck because if DeAndre Jordan didn't slam home an Anthony Davis lob 36 seconds into the game, he would have been awarded via Last Man In rules the top scorer in Cleveland's Evan Mobley. The #3 overall pick had a rookie boosted 64 PRA slightly edging the 62 PRA output from #4 pick Scottie Barnes. For veterans, Paul George once again would have been your best bet as he continued to attempt to carry the Kawhi-less Clippers with 52 PRA. The Bench Bargain came from the same team as our top scorer as Torrey Craig, who didn't see usage until the Western Conference semi-finals a year ago, erupted for 42 PRA off the Indiana bench.
