- Our runner-up last year, Brittany, continued to struggle early on with her second straight sub-200 yard game to start the 2022 QB Club Pick One Challenge. Luckily for her, misery had company this week as Colin also went with Houston's Davis Mills who threw for 177 yards in a loss to the Broncos.
- Having both picked Kirk Cousins last week, Matt and Rachel now stand one yard apart in Week 2. Matt's pick Geno Smith threw for 197 yards for the Seahawks against the 49ers while Rachel's selection Marcus Mariota racked up 196 in Atlanta's loss to the Rams.
- Lenny was surely hoping that Chicago put up more of a fight against Green Bay on Sunday Night Football. The fact that Da Bears were all but dead at halftime allowed the Packers to call off the dogs and leave Aaron Rodgers with a paltry 234 yards by his standards.
- Jared Goff continues to resuscitate his career after a 4 touchdown showing in a win for the Lions over the Commanders. Unfortunately for Al, those 4 scores only came with 256 yards passing. Given the circumstances of the contest and the strength of the Detroit running game it shouldn't be looked at as poorly.
- Kyler Murray may have had a highlight reel two-point conversion in Arizona's win over the Raiders, but that did nothing to boost his dual-backing in the Pick One. Both Jeff and Trevor went with the Cardinals QB and got 277 yards through the air in the OT win.
- Coming oh so close to back-to-back top scores to open the season was Ryan with Los Angeles' Justin Herbert. He couldn't get his Chargers over the hump in a Thursday Night clash with the Chiefs, but he did throw for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns in a valiant defeat.
- But our top scorers for this week were the pair of Buddy and Scott with Washington's Carson Wentz. Down 22-0 to Detroit at halftime is going to give you ample opportunity to sling the rock and that is just what Wentz did to the tune of 337 yards. While the Commanders' comeback bid fell short for a variety of calamitous reasons, Wentz earned his first top score in a season and change of the NFL Pick One Challenge.
- Optimally, raise your hand if you remotely had the slightest inkling that Tua Tagovailoa would put up the highest passing yard total in Miami Dolphins history from someone not named Dan Marino. Yes, the Ravens pass defense is suspect but 469 yards and 6 TD's turns that suspect into a death row inmate
