- The third and final Pick One Challenge recap of the week is for the second new game of the campaign, Receiving Corps! Please ignore the fact that DeAndre Hopkins is on the header graphic and won't play for the first six games due to a suspension. I made these last year (when nobody played this one) and didn't bother to update them for 2022.
- A special brand of oof happened in Week 1 and the less we talk about it the better for Lenny's sake. New York's Kadarius Toney set the bar at possibly the lowest it could go with ZERO receiving yards against the Titans. He was targeted zero times and his only production of the game came on a pair of sweeps netting him an irrelevant 23 rushing yards.
- CeeDee Lamb on the other hand was targeted 11 times against the Buccaneers. Unfortunately for Rachel, the Cowboys wideout only hauled in two of those for 29 yards in the 19-3 loss.
- The aforementioned Hopkins' replacement at the top of the Cardinals receiving food chain was supposed to be Scott's pick "Hollywood" Brown. Marquise did haul in one of Kyler Murray's two touchdown throws, but only could muster 43 yards in total as Arizona was sunk by Kansas City.
- Detroit's DJ Chark (doo doo doo doo doo doo) had a touchdown as well against the Eagles. While that may come into play come tiebreaker time in the latter stages of the year, the 52 yards that Chark got Jeff against Philadelphia is all that matters.
- Completing his Chargers Matrioshka doll was Buddy with Keenan Allen. He led Los Angeles in receiving with 66 yards but didn't snare any of Justin Herbert's three touchdowns against Las Vegas before leaving injured.
- Trevor also did the cross-Pick One double up with Denver's Courtland Sutton. Sutton snared four of his seven targets against Seattle to finish with 72 yards although it would have been cooler if he at least had five more potential yards on that total.
- But speaking of multi-game synergy, Ryan finished 3-for-3 in Week 1 top scores with Buffalo's Stefon Diggs. The only pick made from the Thursday Night opener, Diggs was the only man in the Receiving Corps Challenge to break triple digits as he went for 122 and a touchdown in Buffalo's win over the defending champion Rams.
- Optimally, Justin Jefferson was king of Week 1 in this Challenge. The Vikings receiver caught nine of his eleven targets for an outstanding 184 yards and two touchdowns against the Packers. Over a third of those yards came from a 64 yard effort that split the Green Bay secondary.
