- NFL football has returned and with it comes three, count 'em, three iterations of the Pick One Challenge! Each one will have its own separate recap, you already have to scroll for a century with these things as it is.
- The Brian Daboll Era in New York began in strong fashion as the Giants came back to beat the Titans. Brittany's pick Daniel Jones had a typical Danny Dimes game (188 passing yards, 1 INT, 1 fumble). While the W may be all that matters to fans, in the Pick One that stat line is going to put you in last most times.
- There were several Week 1 "Familiar Faces" games across the league. Carolina's Baker Mayfield against his old team Cleveland was tantalizing enough to draw two selections from Lenny and Pick One newcomer Jeff. Both men were probably just as let down as Baker by the proceedings netting just 235 passing yards in the buzzer-beating defeat.
- Colin found out in Week 1 what a potential boon the rushing yards bonus could be...if he had used it on Jalen Hurts. Instead there was just 243 passing yards to be had from the Philadelphia starter as the Eagles held off the Lions.
- Our second double selection of the week came via Minnesota's Kirk Cousins. Both Matt and Rachel put their faith in the Vikings signal caller and earned 277 passing yards in a win over the Packers that got way out of hand way quicker than anybody expected.
- Just two yards ahead of them was our current MLB leader Buddy with his pick Justin Herbert. The only QB to be completely picked out in the regular season last year threw for 279 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions as the Chargers bested the Raiders.
- Joe Flacco was the final double selection of Week 1 taking on the team he brought a Super Bowl title, Baltimore. Al and Scott somehow got 307 yards from the Jets starter on a whopping 59 pass attempts in a loss.
- Trevor saw both his Eliminators, perfect road spread record, and what little of his dignity he had left die as Denver went AFK for the final minutes of their loss to Seattle. Nevertheless, Russell Wilson's return to the Pacific Northwest netted him 340 yards and the day's silver medal to soften the blow a bit.
- But our weekly winner, and optimal scorer, was Ryan with Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City walloped the Cardinals in Arizona and the former MVP threw for 360 yards and 5 touchdowns (and zero picks) in the process.
