- Expected to initially be one of the bigger offensive showcases of the weekend, our first husband and wife pair of Week 5 saw Trevor bring up the rear of the weekly table with 217 yards from Cincinnati's Joe Burrow while Rachel used the rushing yards boost for Baltimore's Lamar Jackson to get to 232 (174 passing, 58 rushing).
- Our first rookie in the QB Club Pick One for 2022 was Lenny's pick Bailey Zappe. New England's fourth round pick had an easy go of it against the hapless Lions but the fact that the score got out of hand really quick limited his Pick One earning potential. Even with the 50 yard rookie bonus, he only got to a score of 238 in the win.
- One yard ahead of the Zapp Daddy for Week 5 was the now 5-0 Jalen Hurts. Ryan's pick threw for 239 yards in Philadelphia's nail-biting win in the Battle of the Birds over the Cardinals.
- The other marital showdown for Week 5 came in arguably the least watchable game of the week between the Colts and the Broncos. However, while the game itself was ugly, Matt was able to at least pull out 251 yards somehow from Indianapolis' Matt Ryan while Brittany rode Russell Wilson's garbage time yardage to 274 through the air. Acting as an impartial third wheel was Colin who also went with Wilson in the 12-9 Colts OT win.
- Justin Fields was the second quarterback to have the rushing yards boost used on them in Week 5. The Chicago QB threw for 208 and rushed for 47 in the Bears' loss to the Vikings to net Al a final tally of 255.
- Seattle's Geno Smith saw his renaissance continue albeit in a losing effort against the Saints. He earned Jeff 268 yards and three tiebreaker touchdowns against New Orleans who just had too much Taysom Hill to handle for the Seahawks.
- Buddy fared much better yardage-wise this week with a Florida-based quarterback. Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence couldn't get his side past the lowly Texans, but did toss for 286 yards which was good enough for the week's silver medal.
- But our top scorer was the best Florida QB one could have had for Week 5, Scott's pick Tom Brady. TB12 threw for 351 and a score against Atlanta to keep our game leader over 150 yards clear of the rest of the field.
- Optimally, three quarters essentially of Josh Allen were better than four from anybody else for the week. Buffalo's Allen torched the Steelers for 424 yards and 4 touchdowns and didn't even seem to get out of second gear to do so.
