- The dead horse doth shall be beaten as once again nobody went with any of the four quarterbacks on Thursday or Monday Night Football.
- However, this was a week that has been commonly referred to across the Pick One Challenges as a chase day seeing how poorly the top five players did allowing some rubber banding for those lower in the standings.
- Case in point was our leader Ryan who became the latest injury casualty with just 56 yards from Jameis Winston against the Buccaneers before tearing his ACL and MCL on a running play ending his season. But still, not even the season's lowest score could knock him out of the lead.
- Gaining ground though in the saddest way possible though was the triad of Al, Colin, and Trevor who all had to suffer through four quarters of Geno Smith football against a one win Jaguars team. Seattle won in a rout so 195 yards from Russell Wilson's backup actually seems above expectations. Speaking of, Trevor has now taken both Seattle quarterbacks in 2021. More on this trend in a bit.
- Brittany almost got herself to 2K yards for the season with Smith's opposing QB and the lone rookie taken for the week, Trevor Lawrence. The #1 overall pick got a rookie boosted score of 288 but frankly that should have been more given that he threw the ball 54 times in the defeat.
- Kicking almost cost Ben Roethlisberger the game, but Big Ben did not only enough to squeak by division rival Cleveland, but also to get Matt S. the bronze medal for Week 8 with 266 passing yards.
- Justin Herbert couldn't produce a victory for the Chargers but got Kait 223 crucial yards in a sea of subpar games in Week 8.
- Now we get to Sunday Night Football and if you knew that Dak Prescott was going to be out and the quarterback matchup was going to be Cooper Rush versus Kirk Cousins, which side would you be on? Greg and Scott went for the battle tested Cousins who already had three 300+ yard passing games on the season. He unfortunately only went for 184 on this night as Matt F. went with Rush and got the week's top score of 325. Similarly to Trevor with Seahawks, Matt F. has now used both Dallas quarterbacks through Week 8.
- Optimally, it would have been another backup in your crosshairs. The Jets' Mike White torched the Bengals for 405 yards and three touchdowns in an upset win. Another small sidenote, Josh Johnson saw snaps in that same game. Please let's not get to a point this season where somebody has to pick Josh Johnson please and thank you.
