That epic rallying call from the second Mighty Ducks movie can get the least motivated of people ready for war. It is a cry that I need to get myself going on a streak as good as I did in October. W14's don't grow on trees. They also don't grow on the campus of East Carolina University either. The 99.8% chosen and 21st ranked Pirates laid an egg yesterday and left me with the ever so depressing day one L1. Luckily for me I went off SIP book with Georgia Tech to give myself some green to look at before today's proceedings. If you look at any of my picks, or fantasy teams, you would see how disastrous a Streak pick from the 1:00 games would have been for me. The Chargers, the team that did in my best streak ever just two weeks ago, would have done me in again as they are getting spanked by the Dolphins. Back to the Ducks.
They may no longer be Mighty in name like their Disney counterparts but they are plenty mighty when it comes to their play. They are the best team currently in the NHL and perform just as well at home as one the road. That is why I have no hesitation in taking them as a road team against the Colorado Avalanche. After the Avs shocked the hockey world with their play last year, they've been equally as shocking to those same people with how bad they've been this year. The Ducks are a well oiled machine and Colorado won't be able to throw a wrench in that machine. Even if they bring the dumb lasso kid to ruin Gordon Bombay's big "Ducks Fly Together" speech pre-game. Oh, Gordon Bombay isn't the Ducks coach? Well....uhhh...HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
