It seems that I have angered the Streak gods. After a marvelous fourteen game winning streak made this month my finest ever in this game, I seem to be destined to end the month in the red. QPR got themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table by shutting out Aston Villa 2-0 and relegated me to an L3. I can't get out of my own way and today should be no different. That is because I am foolishly placing my Streak in the hands of the SEC. I know Florida State is in the ACC before you get bent out of shape, but the two teams that for all intensive purposes sank me to end this month are the ones I am once again reliant on to see green.
Now with anything that has to with collegiate athletics, you can throw logic out the window. Logically, the order that ESPN has put these three teams in for the first College Football Playoff rankings makes sense. Mississippi State is unbeaten, as are the Seminoles. With all the recent shakeup in the Top 5, including Ole Miss' loss to LSU, Alabama slots in as the third best team. I am just hoping this isn't the night that they decide to throw a statement curveball by not having two SEC teams in the top three. Michigan State and Oregon don't deserve that place and putting Auburn there will be counterproductive. So I make this plea to you, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee, just take the AP Top 3 as your own and allow me to attempt to end Rocktober with some dignity. If you do, maybe tomorrow the promo you see below won't feature Don Muraco stuffing his face with donuts and Ken Patera kissing his biceps.
