Yesterday didn't produce the results I was expecting. The day wasn't a total loss though. Ana Ivanovic started the day off with an "upset" win over Simona Halep. It was a pleasant beginning after an excruciatingly painful end at the hand of the Chargers the night before. The Serbian's victory had me in good spirits before I did something dumb. I put my fate in the hands of the French. OK, it was the French and the Germans but when push comes to shove I am always going to lay the majority of the blame at the feet of France. Five goals could not be scored against the two worst teams in each division and I was back in the red. Shame on you Koln, or should I say Cologne, you sneaky Germans. And double shame to you Toulouse, you actually LOST to last place Lens AND got shut out. Poo poo to you Pepe Le Pew.
The night's picks went much better. The prop for the Cincinnati/South Florida was a quick win for me as the first play of the game was a 14 yard run by South Florida's Marlon Mack. The later one, Oregon's Marcus Mariota versus Cal's Jared Goff, dealing with first half offensive yardage made me sweat a little. Mariota held the lead for the majority of the first half. A couple of turnovers towards the end of the half pushed Goff ahead as neither defense put up much of a fight. The potential #1 overall pick in the 2015 Draft, Mariota, proved his worth in the last drive of the half to take home the win and give me a W2. Hopefully, the magic is back. Let's sprinkle some fairy dust on the five pack I have in store for today.
I shouldn't have to explain myself on my selection of Arsenal at 10:00. The Gunners have been rocks for me in my Streak career and Sunderland was pummeled 8-0 last week. My second pick is also from the Barclays Premier League. Leicester City has been one of the funnest teams to watch in the BPL this season. Swansea has been the more clinical side in recent weeks. If you have the chance this afternoon, watch Gylfi Sigurdsson play. The Icelandic international is in a spectacular run of form.
My last three picks are college football ones. Three top 14 teams in a variety of different props are represented. #1 Mississippi State should easily cover a 15 point spread at Kentucky. #4 Alabama's winning margin should best the total points scored by their opponent, Tennessee. Finally, #14 Arizona State should TCOB versus Pac-12 brethren Washington. I hope that there are no hiccups like yesterday and I head into the final seven days of Rocktober with a W7. Do you smelllllllllllllllllll what I'm cooking?
