Maybe picking two Angels wasn't the most intelligent course of action for Beat the Streak's postseason contest. The Halos were once again downed in extra innings by the Royals last night putting them in a 2-0 hole in one half of the American League Division Series. Hey, at least I got one hit from my tag team of Albert Pujols and Mike Trout yesterday! Trout and Pujols have now combined to go 1-for-16. I don't think I am going to win. I also don't think my beloved Dodgers stand a chance of winning their series either. Matt Carpenter and Jhonny Peralta each got hits during Clayton Kershaw's meltdown in Game One. I prophesied that this would happen but it doesn't make it sting any less. When they were up 6-1, I thought my selection of the Cardinals as World Series champions combined with picking two of them in a Streak game would all but jinx them to high hell. It seems the only team I've put a hex on so far is the Angels. In other less interesting news, Anthony Rendon got a hit. Hopefully he gets some more today against Tim Hudson. I hope for the opposite for Carpenter and Peralta against Zack Greinke. Or should I hope they get hits and use my obviously powerful reverse psychology to put a spell on them? Either way it should be quite the entertaining day of baseball.
That entertaining day of baseball will start though long after my Streak for the Cash picks for the day are done. I am going with two Premier League picks today after yesterday's baseball pick was a dud. You can never trust someone named Hunter. At least I am back in the green after my off the book pick of Sporting Kansas City paid off.
My first pick is that twelve goals or more will be scored in the 10:00 games in the Barclays Premier League. The slate of five games has some high scoring potential to counteract the potential 0-0 snorefest that Sunderland v. Stoke City has the potential to be. After that I will be taking Manchester City at 12:30 to beat Aston Villa on the road. Villa has been one of the big surprises this season but City should handle them as they continue to find their form. A W3 sounds all right to me! You know what sounds better? IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU KNOW! HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!
