Jose! I thought we were friends. I thought I could trust you. Instead you had to go 0-for-4 and ruin EVERYTHING. OK, it is a bit of an overreaction seeing as I can no longer win but still it is the principle of it all. As you could have guessed from the proceeding nonsense, Jose Altuve did not record a hit yesterday and my streak is back at zero. It is almost fitting though as I enter today's BTS contest. It is apt because today's contest is not a Beat the Streak in a Day contest, but instead it is a Bizarro Beat the Streak Contest. It is the first one I remember MLB.com doing and I for one am excited. The name of the game is to not get hits and as I have shown over the course of my BTS career that I am damn good at picking losers. You must have at least 27 at-bats between the 9 ragamuffins you choose to qualify for the $5,000 prize so the card is subject to change. Thank you MLB.com for creating a contest I may actually have a chance of winning. Let's just hope none of these duds above decide to go do something dumb like, I don't know, their job tonight.
After yesterday's sandwich of shit, I need a clean sweep today or my September is essentially finished. My sandwich had nice leafy greens on the inside, two of them actually. That makes no difference when the buns of said sandwich are two stale, fly riddled dog turds named Thomas Muller and Real Esteli. Muller's 85th minute goal drew the prop between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich while another Real, Esteli, decided this was the game they didn't put up a fight. After two draws and a two goal loss, the Nicaraguans lost 3-0 and showed zero heart. I have to assume that last part because I had no means to watch the game live. I'd go into why I am picking what I am picking today but I feel the more analysis I've put into picks the more I second guess myself and change them at the last second. So check out my five pack of picks for the day and pray to Joe Pesci with me that they all come up green. If not, SIP Vol. 35 is going to be a lackluster one. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
