Even though Trent from Swingers advised Mikey to always double down on 11, I must double down on 2 today. Yes, I actually got two correct picks yesterday. Let me go take my victory lap! OK, that was a horrible idea I am way to out of shape for this "running" thing. Alas Kole Calhoun and Giancarlo Stanton did help my quest for $5.6 million yesterday by going 1-for-5 and 2-for-4 respectively. A good start that I hope two players on teams that are bitter rivals can keep going. Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers and Angel Pagan of the Giants have absolutely murdered their opposing pitchers in these two games. Pagan, who is still trying to find his legs after returning from a month long DL stint, takes on Edwin Jackson who he is batting .667 against lifetime including a 2-for-3 performance against the right hander in May. Puig's potential foil is San Diego's Eric Stults. The talented Cuban is 5-for-8 in his career against the struggling left hander. Puig may have his ups and downs but I think LA's bats had a collective awakening last night and it will continue today, Puig included.
Over at the Worldwide Leader, I was also successful with my pick of the Kansas City Royals against the Colorado Rockies. Three correct picks by Trevor Utley in one day? THE END OF DAYS IS NIGH!!!! BUILD YOUR BUNKERS AND PROTECT YOUR LOVED ONES!!! More than likely I am just going to bring an apocalypse of shame to myself with today's picks. Firstly, I try to attain a vaunted 2-streak with the Miami Marlins with an early 12:40 first pitch. The Fish have won three in a row and I expect them to continue to heap the sorrow on a Texas team who I picked to be the fourth best team in baseball this year. Injuries are quite the bitch. Getting to a 3-streak has been quite a bitch for me this month and that is just what I am going to attempt to do if Miami is victorious. How you ask? The Baltimore Orioles that's how. Wei-Yin Chen and company take on Hector Noesi and the Chicago White Sox. Noesi has a 4.84 in stints with three different teams this year and I am hoping that makes him cannon fodder for the Bashing Birds. Until tomorrow folks, streak wisely and make sure nobody steals your clothes!
