I am back from Brocation 2014 to the City of Brotherly Love and ready to get back to streaking. There are less than two weeks left in the Major League season so I want to end on a high note. That note would shatter bullet proof glass if I were able to win the $5.6 million bounty from Beat the Streak with their latest (and probably one of the last) Beat the Streak in a Day contests. Above is my carefully, and by carefully I mean auto-picked, selected roster to win the Dinero di Dimaggio. I might live tweet my progress over the evening if tonight's podcast recordings go quick enough. If not, I will surely be here tomorrow to stomp and pout around like a three year old.
I am back from Philadelphia and back in the Streak for the Cash groove. My gamble on a BYU prop before I hopped on the Amtrak paid off and now I am on a W5 entering today's action. The board for today was chock full of picks. I was tempted by the cricket this morning...who am I kidding I still don't have a first grasp on how to keep score in cricket never mind who is good or what considers...I am stopping. I like to see at least one game from each team in the Champions League group stage before delving into those picks so that was off the table. That left American soccer and Major League Baseball for tonight. The U.S. Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions League are complete crap shoots to me so I stuck with America's pastime. The St. Louis Cardinals, my preseason World Series pick, have surged to the top of the NL Central. The Milwaukee Brewers, once in control of said division, have floundered to third place and out of the second Wild Card spot. I expect the Cardinals' ascendence to continue with Lance Lynn on the bump tonight. He's been stellar since the Dodgers knocked him out after just two innings on June 28th. He is 7-2 in that span and hasn't given up more than 3 runs in a start since that outing. Milwaukee is 5-5 in their last ten games but it just doesn't look like they have the fight in them anymore. I expect to go to bed with a W6 and probably a nip or two of Doctor McGillicuddy's. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYONE!
