I picked on Pennsylvania yesterday in both games and it came up mighty fine. I don't have any themes going today except I'm picking all Major League Baseball all the time. The U.S. Open starts today. The Copa America and College World Series rage on. Streak murderer John Isner is currently playing. Given my track record with all three, you can't fault me for avoiding them. But enough about who I'm avoiding, on to the picks!
The Pirates continued to roll over the White Sox yesterday, but Jose Abreu was able to tally a 4th inning single to get my Beat the Streak entry to a W3. I don't think the Phillies will beat Baltimore today, but I expect similar results from Adam Jones against Philadelphia starter Sean O'Sullivan. Jones is 4-for-7 lifetime against O'Sullivan and the Phillies staff as a whole has been a punching bag lately. W4 wrapped up nice, nice. When youz is ready.
On Streak for the Cash, I have a double dip of baseball this afternoon and evening. The day game pits the MLB-best Cardinals against the Minnesota Twins. It is a road game, where the Cardinals aren't nearly as dominant, but I have faith in the pitching matchup. Jaime Garcia has been spectacular since returning from injury. Mike Pelfrey had been equally good for Minnesota, but is coming off a braining from Texas in his last start (3.2 IP, 8 ER, 0 K). I'll take the Redbirds for the W4. After that, I go for a red star tonight by picking against the Red Sox. The Sox have been thoroughly disappointing lately and draw Atlanta and Shelby Miller tonight. Boston is one of the game's worst road teams and send the human baldness inducer, Clay Buchholz, to the mound tonight. You never really know which Buchholz you are going to get on a start to start basis. I am hoping for the bad one tonight. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
