"Hubba Hubba Hubba Money Money Money Who Do You Trust?" It was the closing to Jack Nicholson's Joker parade from the 1989 cinematic masterpiece Batman. It is also a question I am asking myself more and more here on Streaking In Public. I can't seem to find any consistency with stars of SIP past and anything new I try isn't working that well either. I may be a time to go against my "better judgement."
Jose Altuve, a staple of my Beat the Streak brigade, was unable to complete the double down with Miguel Cabrera yesterday. Miggy did more than his fair share at 3-for-3, while Altuve couldn't solve Carlos Rodon and the White Sox relief corps. I'll be trying another double down today, once again with two prominent stars. Paul Goldschmidt has been hit or miss thus far in 2015 and it is always tough to pick against your own team (though I redeem myself later). I shouldn't have to provide explanation for picking Bryce Harper, but he owns Yankees starter Nathan Eovaldi (.429 BA w/ a homer).
My biggest strain from the norm is on Streak for the Cash. I'll be making four picks today, two baseball games straight up and two Stanley Cup Finals props. That's right. Not three days after telling you on Streak Sharks to stay away from the Stanley Cup Finals, especially props, I am doing the exact opposite. What can I say other than desperate times call for desperate measures. I'm taking the Reds this afternoon in a battle of bad teams and making up for going against the Dodgers on Beat the Streak by picking them this evening. In between, I'll be picking the favorites on both offered Stanley Cup Finals props. The way the goals have been flying in this series, I hopefully will have my red star back heading into tomorrow. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
