It's a new month which means optimism reigns supreme here on Streaking In Public. I'm back in with a chance to win millions of dollars just by making correct selections for the entirety of June. No sweat. I got this. I expect this positivity to be gone by at the latest Thursday. Until then, let's go win some dough!
The team of my selected hitter for the second straight day were shut out. However, for that second straight day my selected hitter, this time Jose Altuve, was able to get at least one hit to perpetuate my Beat the Streak success. Altuve did well with his redemption opportunity so I felt it was necessary to give another one out today. That opportunity will go to my most used player in this game, Adrian Gonzalez. The tens of you loyal SIP readers are aware of my eleven consecutive days of Gonzalez in early May (SIP 109-119). While it produced my best results of 2015, Gonzalez was the one who eventually doomed me with an 0-for-4 against Jarred Cosart and the Marlins. El Titan gets his chance to make this streak even better than the last one with a hit today against Kyle Kendrick and the Rockies. I've picked on Kyle several times already this season, but for good reason. Gonzalez is hitting .389 against him lifetime and Kendrick has a 6.38 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 2015. W9 will be mighty fine.
The calendar turn has breathed new life into me on Streak for the Cash. I will be looking to replicate and surpass my W12 from the start of last month. Nevertheless, I'll be starting it off the same way. I am picking the Chicago Cubs this evening to defeat the Miami Marlins. Jason Hammel has been a model of consistency for the North Siders in 2015 and will square off with young Marlins righty Jose Urena. Urena came out of the pen in his first two appearances of the season, but made a spot start against the Pirates last time through the rotation and got pummeled (10 hits, 5 runs in 4 2/3 innings). I expect the Cubs' bats to feast on Urena again tonight and start off my June the same way as my May. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
