It was a stress free day for me yesterday in regards to the Streak games. I wish I could say the same for real life, but a thirty minute conversation with a tweaker will put a damper on anyone's day. You aren't here to hear about my "professional issues" though. You're here to see my eventual downfall and subsequent meltdown in these games. Hopefully that moment will be delayed by at least one more day.
On Beat the Streak, I was able to successfully double down again with the help of Adrian Gonzalez and Miguel Cabrera. Both men got their hits out of the way early, something I am thankful for. As has been the recent trend, I am doubling down again today with Gonzalez and another player with a favorable matchup. That person today is Toronto's Josh Donaldson. He's acclimatized very well to his new surroundings north of the border and draws Boston's Wade Miley tonight at the Rogers Centre. Miley, and quite frankly the entire Boston staff, has been glorified batting practice thus far in 2015. The Blue Jays should get plenty of opportunities to lay the lumber with Donaldson in the epicenter of it all. Gonzalez takes on Eddie Butler and the Rockies and will get a hit. Book it.
Speaking of the Jays and their opposition, this relates to my Streak for the Cash entry as well. Aaron Sanchez takes the hill for Toronto to face the aforementioned Miley and the Red Sox. It is the closest matchup in terms of percentage picked (63/37) in May, as my other seven picks have been closer to a 90/10 split. Nevertheless, I've seen one Red Sox game on TV this year and it was Miley getting his brains beaten in by Baltimore a little over a week ago. That little sampling plus his declining work in the NL West against my Dodgers over the last year or so gives me little trepidation about this evening, even if the Red Sox bats come full force.
After a day off, it is time to restart the Drive To The Finals engine with some gusto. I am going all in on the Rockets getting eliminated by the Clippers with my selection of Dwight Howard tonight. Hopefully it doesn't backfire on me like it did on the flip side of the Clips against San Antonio. Also a quick disclaimer, saying I am going all in does not mean I am going to throw my girlfriend to the ground until she concurs. I am not from Cleveland. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
