Maybe I should just cut baseball picks out all together. I put Streak for the Cash on the shelf until the end of April to focus on my other two tasks at hand: Beat the Streak and Drive to the Finals. While my Drive, via Anthony Davis, did reasonably well, I suffered another double zero burger over on BTS.
Adam Jones wasn't able to collect a hit in a rain shortened drubbing on Patriot's Day versus the Red Sox. He was denied one final chance after umpires called the game due to incessant rain. It wouldn't have mattered anyway since Miguel Cabrera was stifled by C.C. Sabathia and the Yankees. The Tigers would eventually rally on the Pinstripers but Cabrera did not make a tally mark in the hit column. Today I am going with an old faithful in Jose Altuve. He matches up with Seattle's Taijuan Walker who sports a less than sparkling 17.18 ERA and 2.86 WHIP. If this can't get me out of this Beat The Streak funk, I may have to put this game on hiatus as well.
On my Drive To The Finals, I am picking Isaiah Thomas of Boston versus Cleveland. Thomas did it all for the Celts in a Game One loss. I don't think Boston is going to last very long in this series so I am going to use their best player for this fantasy game while I still can. I will still have a chance to use players from Dallas and Washington, whom I both think are heading for a first round exit as well, later on as I see those series going more than four games. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
