I am quite aggravated with these games today. Most of it (OK all of it) is my own doing but it is unnecessary aggravation nonetheless. Absent mindedness (forgot to go back and switch the Ducks pick back to the Blues after getting screen grabs) and ineffectiveness (a double 0-fer from Myers and Pagan) leave me wanting this morning. Compound that with me sweating through Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final tie against Aston Villa and I am in no mood to put forth a full Streaking In Public right now. But as I try to exude some professionalism, I press on.
As I said in the opening paragraph, Wil Myers and Angel Pagan decided that getting a hit yesterday was a bad idea. Hindsight is 20/20 on Myers. I went back and forth between him and Matt Kemp as a pick before settling on the former Ray. It is a moot point because Pagan's failure would have doomed me regardless. To avoid two consecutive days of heartbreak, I am making just one selection today. That one choice will be Mr. Mike Trout. He's on fire, pummels Scott Feldman, and once bench pressed a school bus. Well, at least two of those.
I am running out of time to catch the leaders with less than two weeks to go in April and I can't get more than two picks right in a row. I'll be picking three games today, if my dumb ass can remember to do so. I'll be starting off with a second half prop in the game between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. If you haven't seen Newcastle play in the last month and change, they've thrown in the towel. They are done playing football. If Spurs cannot get on the scoresheet first in the second half against the Magpies, something terrible has occurred. My second pick will be my "hometown" New England Revolution going to the Philadelphia Union. After a nightmare start to 2015, the Revs have turned it around and are unbeaten in four. The Union shafted me in my last MLS pick but I think the Revs can go get at least an ugly point on the road. I bring it home this evening with the first round NBA Playoffs matchup between Portland and Memphis. I think the first game will be high scoring before both teams settle in to the flow of the series. This game also features my Drive To The Finals selection for the day, LaMarcus Aldridge. His battle with Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph will be the most intriguing of today's games. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
