Could it be that the Utley Streak Magic is back? As heavy favorite after heavy favorite fell on Sunday, I picked one of the few that succeeded. Not even starting a fourth string goalie with the 45 year old goaltending coach as the emergency back-up could stop the Quack Attack from obtaining a second straight win for me. Now if only they covered...nope I need to stop being greedy.
Today's board doesn't really do a lot for me. There is European soccer from four different leagues over the course of the morning to afternoon and none of the matchups (even 98.9% favorite Lazio) strike me as worthwhile selections. My St. Louis Blues are the lone NHL contest to choose from and though they've been better of late, I can't trust them on the road in New York. That leaves me with Memphis/New Orleans in the NBA and a slew of picks for Monday Night Football between the Colts and the Giants. I can't pick the Memphis game because they scored just 71 points the other day. They scored 71 points in an NBA game in the year 2014. Do you want to know the sadder part of it? They won! They scored 71 points and beat the Charlotte Hornets. If I was at that game I would have demanded a full refund plus interest plus damages for emotional pain and suffering.
By process of elimination that leaves me with Colts/Giants as my lone place to pick from. I have faith in my Colts to win the game outright. Well, that's a lie. I don't have much faith in anything these days. Except the Ducks. Alas, I am choosing a prop from Monday Night Football. It is a second half prop in which I believe that one rushing touchdown (or no touchdowns at all) will be scored before two passing touchdowns occur. I know Eli Manning and Andrew Luck love to throw the ball in close, but both teams have stables of capable running backs that can get it in the endzone. Yes, no matter how much it pains me, I just called Trent Richardson a capable running back. I am going to go throw up now. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
