Ahhh, Streak for the Cash has that new month smell. After a brilliant run in October, I hope that I can channel some of that momentum to have an even better November. There won't be any wrestling promos this month, good or bad, but I do hope to have some guest picks as the month goes along. It just won't be today because I am what we like to call a "poor planner" and just sprung the idea on my fellow Streakers in We Going Streaking (a group you should join today with the password dundies) about twenty minutes ago. Well, enough of what may be, here is what is for today!
My first pick of November features the Barclays Premier League and more importantly my beloved Liverpool. Just a quick disclaimer, I have a horrible record picking Liverpool on Streak. If I had to go back and trawl through years of results, I would say my percentage of correct Liverpool selections would be in the 10-20% range. I know not the best bet to start a month on right? It is just the 4+ goal margin against Newcastle that worries me. I am well aware that Liverpool went into St. James' Park two years ago and dropped a 6-0 anvil on them, but this is a different Liverpool team. No Luis Suarez (he's at Barcelona) and no Daniel Sturridge (injured) makes this a drastically less potent attack. I think Liverpool will win but it will be more akin to the 2-1 victory they had at Anfield last term than the 6-0 drubbing of two years' past.
The 21st ranked East Carolina Pirates are my second selection of the day. The Pirates are the class of the American Athletic Conference at 6-1, that one loss coming to then #21 South Carolina. In the past months on Streak, ECU is usually a margin of victory prop bet. Getting them as a straight up pick 'em is puzzling. I know that the Streakmaster always likes to throw a couple of cupcakes in on the first day to get people building big streaks early, but I feel I may have to sweat this one a little bit. Temple is a middle of the pack team in the AAC but have shown when their defense is on they can make opponent's lives hell. I am just hoping today isn't one of those days so I can get to an NFL Sunday with a W2...and then probably lose it to a dumb prop involving the Chargers. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
