The Cardinals evened the National League Championship Series last night with the Giants and in the process collected two more hits for my Beat the Streak Postseason squad. It was one hit apiece for Matt Carpenter and Jhonny Peralta. Carpenter was the steam engine on the Cardinals home run express. Peralta was only able to get a single. He must've missed the home runs only meeting. I am really getting tired of writing about these two guys. It is my own fault though. I could have just picked Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez and been done with this. Boo to me for trying to win. Another boo to the Angels for not advancing again. At least it gave us this awesome Royals run. Unless you are a Giants, Cardinals, or Orioles fan, if you aren't rooting for the Royals you are not a human being.
There will be no baseball on the Streak for the Cash front today. My heart can't handle extra innings games like it used to. My first pick is yet another Euro 2016 qualifying matchup. Spain defied the percentages yesterday in their defeat of Luxembourg to get me back in the green. Today I put my faith in the Czech Republic. The Czechs made a statement in their defeat of the Netherlands a month ago. They also sunk over half of the Streak Leaderboard. I am hoping that my scrawny W2 can float by with 3 goals or more in the match between the Czechs and Kazakhstan. Jagshemash!
My second pick of the day will feature the recently restarted NHL. Like I said with my last NHL selection, early season picks in a league are always tricky. I am confident however that the Anaheim Ducks can make easy work of the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres were the worst team in hockey a season ago. This year isn't starting off much better for the boys from Buffalo as they currently sit as the second worst team in the sport. With my luck, this will end up 5-1 in favor of the Sabres. Ducks fans, I apologize in advance.
If somehow I get through the first two picks of the day still in the green, I am going with the San Francisco 49ers with my last selection of the day. The Niners have a chance to keep pace with Seattle in the NFC West after the defending Super Bowl Champions lost yesterday to the Cowboys. Division contests are always nervy but I just think that San Francisco is too talented to lose to a team of the Rams caliber. If all goes well, I will have a red star at day's end. If all doesn't go well, I'll at least have this Rock promo to put a smile on my face. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
