In the touching words of the star of this month's Streaking In Public, Edmonton took my three points, turned that sumbitch sideways, and stuck it straight up my candyass. A third period collapse gave the Oilers a 5-2 loss to Calgary and me a big red L1. I paid the price of trying to be risky with the late game instead of trusting my gut with the Devils in the 7:00 time slot. It is still early in the month so I am not too distraught about it. There is only one hockey game tonight and I am leaving it alone.
The sport in great abundance on the Streak board today is soccer. European qualifiers, African Cup of Nations qualifiers, MLS, and international friendlies fill up the schedule quite nicely. I know I said just one day ago that I am staying away from games that don't matter. As you can see above I am picking an international friendly, breaking that rule just one day later. To be frank though, this game does matter. It matters because it is the last time we'll ever see the legendary Landon Donovan put on the red, white, and blue for the United States Men's National Team. A storied international career comes to a close in my backyard tonight and sadly I won't be able to attend. I know quite a few lucky individuals that will have that honor and I hope they make that place rock. I can only sit here and humbly select the United States to win as my contribution. With Landon's USA chapter concluding, I thought it would be fitting to have the Rocktober promo come from Rocky's first bowing out from the 'E at Wrestlemania XX. THANK YOU LANDON AND HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!
