With the day games already in the books, I had slimmer pickings for my Beat the Streak entry today. Nevertheless, I think I've got quite the impressive pair to get me a third consecutive successful double down. Let's get down to it.
Firstly, Paul Goldschmidt will be the first man in nearly two weeks to make a repeat appearance on Streaking In Public. He takes on Colorado's David Hale today. The history between these two is very small, but it favors Goldschmidt. In their one previous meeting while Hale was with the Braves, Goldy took him deep for a 2 run homer.
While Goldschmidt is being picked in back to back days, we have to go back to SIP 140 for the last time Dustin Pedroia made the team sheet. The Laser Show takes on Baltimore today and the abominable Bud Norris. The Red Sox have been hot and cold this year, but Pedroia has been consistently potent against Norris. He holds a .385 career BA against the right hander, with three of the five hits going for extra bases. W6 here I come! HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
