Sorry for taking a day off from streaking yesterday. I wasn't intentional and by no means planned. To say I was running around all day yesterday would be an understatement. I still have a streak going on Beat the Streak so let's get to today's dynamic duo.
Doubling down will probably return to being the norm until that unimaginable day where I break onto the Beat the Streak leaderboard. Since that will never happen, get used to a daily double down here on SIP.
Today's two hitters are Paul Goldschmidt and Brett Gardner. The selection of Goldschmidt should need little explanation. He's the league's leading hitter at .356 and heads to hitter's paradise, Coors Field, this evening. There he will face off with Kyle Kendrick, a man who I've victimized more than once here on Streaking In Public. Goldschmidt should improve on his .429 lifetime average against Kendrick tonight.
Brett Gardner seems a less popular pick, but not with the way he's been playing lately. The speedy Yankee outfielder has raised his batting average 28 points (.262 to .290) in the past week, including a 4-for-4 last night. He took apart Kevin Correia a night ago. Correia is a reliable veteran having a good 2015. Sean O'Sullivan ticks none of those boxes. Like Kendrick, I've gone against O'Sullivan several times with no trepidation. Gardner continues that trend tonight in the Bronx. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!
