This is the life of the streaker. You become irrational. You start making demands of people that make no sense. Yesterday the Yankees were a missed extra point away from being up two touchdowns on the Tigers. There was no reason for Miguel Cabrera to stay in the game. Brad Ausmus did the right thing by getting his big guns out of the lineup and prepare for the next day. As I sat in my living room last night though, I was hoping Ausmus had a stroke on the way back to the team hotel. You see, Miguel Cabrera was 0-for-2 and his removal from the game damned me to yet another trip back to the drawing board on Beat the Streak.
Here is what my drawing board looked like: Dee Gordon and Josh Donaldson. I did no research whatsoever. I just picked two of the popular picks for the day. Why do I continue to do this? Nobody reads it. I could show you my readership charts but it isn't going to do anything but make me more bummed out. So why? Because some day it'll mean something. I'll be able to look back at this conglomeration of nonsense and feel like something was accomplished. Or that is at least what I tell myself to take the focus off the fact that I've started drinking at 8 AM the past two days with no soccer on. Yay life! HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!
