Let yesterday be my public service announcement on the effects of alcohol on one's decision making. It isn't like I've been having the most successful of months as it is, but throw in a full day of beer and it just crumbles even more precipitously. I missed picks. I made ill-advised off book selections. In the end, I am wading in a lake of L's because two Mexicans, with whom I've had the utmost trust with in Streak days past, let me down.
On Beat the Streak, a second "lengthy" endeavor was upended by Adrian Gonzalez. If you remember, he pulled a similar stunt, while once again paired with Miguel Cabrera, to end a 14 streak back as part of the Streak Mass Murder known as SIP 119. I am already off to a bad start today as Michael Brantley is 0-for-1 against Alfredo Simon. That should turn around seeing how he was hitting .667 lifetime against Simon before today. And with Bryce Harper, he's just Bryce Harper. His bat speaks for itself.
My Saturday on Streak for the Cash was a mess. It started off with me Angry Orcharding myself into a coma during Portugal vs Armenia. You can see both halves of this week's Streak Sharks offering here: Ep. 3 1st Half and Ep. 4 2nd Half. After that, I went to a beerfest at Roger Williams Park where I got my green back with Germany. A day of drinking for Trevor leads to an early sleepy time therefore I missed out on picking the Angels, who would win. Instead of just letting it be, I decided to go off script with Cain Velasquez in the main event of UFC 188. Cain would submit to Fabricio Werdum to end my day as well as the W8 of fellow Shark Al deCiutiis. Today I'll try to wipe that bitter taste out of my mouth with Spain and Brazil -1.5 goals each and some Sunday Night Baseball. Then I'm going to try to watch the NBA Finals.
That's right, the NBA Finals resume tonight as the Warriors and Cavs are knotted up at 2 game apiece. On Drive to the Finals, I have two relatively useful picks left. I am saving LeBron for the hopeful closeout of the series in Game 6 so Tristan Thompson gets the start this evening. It is fun to finally have passed the majority of the celebrities and studio guys picking but I am still probably going to end up maxing at about the 61st or 62nd percentile overall. I'm truly a D- player. HAPPY STREAKING EVERYBODY!!!!!
